We can hardly believe that in less than a month, we will be holding George Mason! The kids are busy this morning making their "China Travel Chains" as we plan our trip.
Nothing like Daddy's blueberry pancakes for breakfast followed by a wonderful morning spent around the kitchen table having family craft time. :)
The kids drew pictures for each day too - so cute!
We decided it would be fun for them to create a paper chain to count down the days until they see their new brother. Especially for the girls who don't quite understanding the concept of time, I thought this would be a concrete way of seeing how many more days left until we come home.
Each link of the chain has the date and a description of the activity that Mommy, Daddy, and "Curious George" will be doing that day in China. It's becoming real for all of us and we could use lots of prayers that our hearts will be united even as we begin to leave.
Please pray for my children who will be staying home, and lift up prayers for those who are loving them and caring for them while we are gone. My heart aches thinking about being away from them for so long. I pray for peace for each of us while we are away from each other and that God would keep us under His loving protection until we are all linked back together again.

Shelly,
I have been planning to do chains for our kids too. I love the idea of putting on each link what will be happening that day!
What an awesome idea!
Blessings,
gayly
